Blwyddyn Chwech * Year Six
Pob tymor yr haf, mae disgyblion blwyddyn chwech yn gosod a rhedeg menter fusnes i godi arian ar gyfer yr ysgol neu elusen o'u dewis. Mae'r fenter yn rhoi'r cyfle iddynt sylweddoli sut mae'r byd masnachol yn gweithio, gan ethol cadeirydd/es, trysorydd, ysgrifenydd/es a gweithwyr. Maent yn ymchwilio i fewn i anghenion disgyblion yr ysgol, gan holi'r plant a chasglu syniadau ar gyfer cynnyrch cyn mynd ati i greu cynllun. Ar ddiwedd eu tasg, mae arwerthiant o fewn yr ysgol, gyda'r disgyblion yn hysbysebu eu cynnyrch drwy ddefnyddio eu sgiliau celf a TGCh. Fel rhan o'n gwaith hanes, rydym wedi astudio plant y pyllau glo a'u rôl yng ngwaith y pwll glo ym Maesteg.
As part of our history studies, we looked at the role of children in the coal mines, and their part in mining communities in Maesteg.
Each summer term, year six pupils set up and run a business venture to raise money for school equipment or towards a chosen charity. This gives the pupils the opportunity to learn about how a real business is run, and a chairperson, treasurer, secretary and co-workers are elected. Product research is carried out, and a plan formatted and executed. The result is a stall in the summer fayre or a sale in school to sell their wares, with pupils preparing their marketing strategies and advertising.
